The Good Yoga Projects- Social Impact and Purpose Driven Yoga

The “I am” Program- survivors of human trafficking

The Good Yoga Project has teamed up with United Against Human Trafficking to expand on our yoga programs for survivors. For the last year we have been working with A 2nd Cup’s Brazen Table Program, Angela House, and Redeemed Ministries and we are looking forward to further developing our yoga programs and expanding to help other partner organizations in Houston bring this healing practice to survivors and service providers.

Community Classes

since 2017 we have been hosting weekly donation based classes at A 2nd Cup coffee shop in the Houston Heights neighborhood. 100% of the donations are allocated to A 2nd Cup’s efforts in fighting human trafficking in the city of Houston. The class is also free for crisis workers. ie: social workers, nurses, firefighters, police officers, etc. Using yoga as a way of creating community. Come join us every Thursday at 6:30pm at 1111 11th St. Houston, TX 77009.

Baylor College of Medicine

Since 2018, The Good Yoga Project has been providing yoga for the Baylor College of Medicine faculty and students. Sponsored by Doctors for Change, BCM Student Services, and BCM’s Be Well Program, this weekly yoga serves to educate the medical community on the importance of self-care. Teaching that in order to help others be healthy you have to maintain your own health and emotional well-being first. Since implementation we have received feedback of increased productivity, reduced stress and anxiety, and increased flexibility and mobility on the job. We continue to look at new and creative ways we can serve the medical community.
